Below are some suggested Humane Education topics. These topics can be combined or altered to achieve age and curriculum-specific goals, and not limited to these suggestions:

FOR KIDS & TEENS!

1. SAFE KIDS (recommended for ages 5-10): Reading animal body language and behavioral, Top 10 Safety Tips Around Animals, Appearance by CCSPCA Spokescat Cricket, Become Animal Expert CCSPCA Certified!

2. PET CARE 101(recommended for ages 5-10): What is a Pet?, Top 10 Pet Needs, Appearance by CCSPCA Spokescat Cricket, Why do people Abuse animals?

3. BECOME AN ANIMAL ADVOCATE (recommended for ages 10-15): Who are the people at the Chester County SPCA?, Careers with Animals, Volunteering, Top 10 Ways to help your Shelter & Community Animals

4. HELPING YOUR FAMILY PET IN AN EMERGENCY (recommended ages 12-18): Help your family prepare your pet(s) in case of an emergency, Developing an emergency contact list & contingency plan in case of an emergency, the roles of animal shelters and welfare organizations in emergencies

5. CCPSCA COMMERCIAL (all ages): What does SPCA stand for?, What animals are at the CCSPCA and how do they get there?, Careers with Animals, Junior Fur Star**** Volunteer Corp, What can I do to help my local animal shelter?

FOR ADULTS!
1. PETS 101: Pet Safety around Your Family, Baby-Ready Pets, The Right Pets for the Right People, Introducing New Pets to Each Other

2. ANIMALS & PEOPLE AT RISK: “The link” between Animal Cruelty and Domestic Violence/Mental Illness, Bad Breeding & Responsible Breeding, Hoarding & Puppy Mills, Dog & Cock Fighting, animal welfare issues in zoos and circuses, Animal Violence in Hollywood

3. PET S.O.S: Protecting your Pet in a Disaster, Disaster Preparedness, the rols of animal shelters and welfare organizations in emergencies, Make your own First-Aid Kit, Animal Emergencies at home, Stock up your medicine cabinet with THESE five things

4. CCSPCA COMMERCIAL: SPCA vs. Humane Society, What is the difference between Open-Access Shelters, Close-Door Shelters, and No-Kill Shelters?, What kinds of animals do we take in and how many?, What are our adoption policies?, What do our Volunteers do?, Where does the CCSPCA get its funding from and where would my donation best be put to use?
