It is required by Pennsylvania law that every dog over 3 months of age has their dog license. Licenses need to be renewed each calendar year.

Named "Nonprofit of the Year" in 2007 by the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce and "Best Place to Get a Pet" in 2008 by readers of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Chester County SPCA celebrates its 80th Anniversary in 2009.
